Things to do when you are not traveling

January tends to be the best time to plan and book your trips for the upcoming year, not really embarking on one. But there are many great reasons to travel during the first month of the year. Besides taking advantage of affordable flight deals, you can explore the places in a peaceful and less crowded moment. Whether you’re looking for a short break, cultural experience, wildlife adventure, or exploring a new destination January can be a great time to travel.

So many fascinating locations everywhere may give you a hard time when deciding what is the best travel destination for the month of January.

When thinking about the best locations to travel to in January, definitely you need to consider first the weather.Ā Are you looking to embrace the cold weather and enjoy some winter activities or you rather prefer to escape to a tropical island and relax on a sandy beach?

Whether you’re the kind of person who copes better through times like this by being still and investing in self-care, or you need to dive head first into productive tasks, this list of things to do when you’re not traveling will have something for you.

Binge watch a series

With so many amazing shows and Netflix series that have come out over the last few years, now you can finally catch up on them.

Start a gratitude journal

We aren’t in easy times right now which is why I think it would be so incredibly useful to start a gratitude journal. Take some time each day to focus on the things you are thankful for. Maybe you’re thankful for your own health right now, your family, the experiences you’ve had so far in life. Focusing on the things we are grateful for can help shift our perspectives and lift our moods when we need it the most.

Make a travel bucket list

Travel may not be on a lot of people’s minds right now but as a travel blogger myself I can’t help but dream. I’ve been reading blogs, pinning on Pinterest, and writing my list of places I want to visit when this is all over. It may seem like something irrelevant right now, but for me it makes me feel better to remind myself of what a beautiful world we live in.

Have a virtual karaoke party

I don’t know about you guys but I LOVE me some karaoke. Whether you’re busting out your favourite songs with the people you live with or doing it virtually with your friends, karaoke can be a great distraction and (hello) an absolute blast.Ā

Learn a new language

I’ve been saying for the past 5 or so months that I finally understand swahili .With apps so easily available from companies like Babbel, Rosetta Stone, Duolingo and MemriseĀ  you Can learn a new language from the comfort of your own home. Time to finally get started!

Plant some new plant

Grab some seeds and try your hand at growing some plant babies to brighten up your space and provide some much needed oxygen. Plus it always feels good to have something to take care of doesn’t it?

I hope you guys enjoyed this post on things to do when your not traveling. Although we don’t have much choice right now there’s definitely a lot of things we can do to keep busy and make the most of it.
