Happy first day of September WanOnTheRoad fam🎉… I officially welcome you to not just a month, but a month of breakthrough, a month of abundance, happiness and joy, a month filled with awesome accomplishment and new beginnings. A month of peace and fulfillment 😍
The Lonely Planet states that <there is no better month to travel than September>. September is a savvy and often stress-free time to travel. Schools are back in full swing, tourist numbers are tailing off and peak season prices have, mercifully, come to an end. Spring is bursting into blossom on one side of the world and, on the other, late summer is sliding into autumn. The weather, in many places, is pretty near perfect. So, yes, September is a stunner. If you have the freedom to travel, pack your bags and see the world.
Wondering where to go in September? Here’s a handful of our favorite beaches around the world:
1- SMATHERS BEACH (KEY WEST), FLORIDA

Smathers Beach in Key West is among the island’s only public beaches, and it’s completely free to access. Located at the south end of Key West, this beach is still an easy car or bike ride from most places in the Old Town.
2- SHIPWRECK BEACH, ZAKYNTOS, GREECE

Only accessible from the sea, Shipwreck Beach on the island of Zakynthos is one of the most gorgeous beaches in all of Greece. Set in a crescent-shaped cove, surrounded by towering cliffs that extend outward into the sparkling azure sea where you’ll find sea caves, the beach is comprised from fine white pebbles and is truly a stunning work of nature. Named for the wreck of a ship smuggling contraband cigarettes that washed ashore here in 1980, Shipwreck Beach is in Smuggler’s Cove on the island’s west coat.
3- POLIHALE BEACH, KAUAI, HAWAII

At the end of Highway 50, on the far western end of the rugged Na Pali Coast in Kauai, Polihale Beach is the perfect place to head for a romantic picnic at sunset. Running for 17 miles, the wide white-sand beach, protected by Polihale State Park, is the longest in Hawaii.
4- HAAD RIN BEACH, KOH PHANGAN, THAILAND

Haad Rin Beach is the most famous of the nearly three dozen beaches scattered around this lush isle. Koh Phangan and neighboring Koh Tao and Koh Samui Islands are three of Thailand’s most popular island-hopping destinations. The water is warm and water sports also abound.
5- NUNGWI BEACH, ZANZIBAR ISLAND, TANZANIA

Tanzania’s Zanzibar Island is one of the most intriguing beach destinations in Africa. Nungwi Beach, on the island’s northern tip, fronts a fishing village with a serious buzz these days. The beach here is comprised of pale coral sand, and the turquoise and aquamarine water beyond it is as beautiful as it gets. The sea here is warm and perfect for swimming.
6- TROPIC OF CANCER BEACH, LITTLE EXUMA, BAHAMAS

Tropic of Cancer Beach (also known as Pelican Beach) is the longest of the clear water beaches on Little Exuma, with a span of over a mile. It can be reached after venturing down a long, dirt road. The water is especially transparent, with no obstructions like coral or rocks. With a lack of vendors and tourists (due to its hidden location), this beach is a true oasis.
7- IPIL BEACH, EL NIDO, PALAWAN ISLAND, PHILIPPINES

Ipil Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, is known to be free of tourists. Many travelers find that they are the only ones on the beach during their visit, with the exception of some locals. In addition to one of the most stunning clear beaches, visitors can expect to see monkeys, a plethora of chromatic coral, palm trees, and friendly turtles. The backdrop of the mountains makes for incredible scenery, and the sunset is said to be remarkable.
8- BANANA BEACH, KOH HEY ISLAND, PHUKET THAILAND

The entire country is known for its breathtaking tropical beaches, and Banana Beach on Koh Hey Island is no exception. Perhaps the vibrant green jungle that serves as the background for this beach makes the water look even bluer, but that doesn’t mean the crystal-clear waters aren’t spectacular in their own right. The name comes from the prevalent banana boat rides available here, and the beach is also a great place to go swimming or try snorkeling or sea kayaking.
9- KOKOYE BEACH ,PETIT-GOAVE, HAITI

Accessible only by boat, Kokoye beach is located on the south side of Haiti, it’s a small paradise with Pearl white sand and calm water. Ideal for sunbathing, swimming, jogging and evening walks. The beach has showers and changing rooms, as well as tables and chairs for camping.
10- SEAGRASS BAY, LAUCALA ISLAND, FIJI

If you’re headed to Fiji, Seagrass Bay in Laucala Island is a must-see, but there’s only one way to see it. This beach is part of a private island, less than an hour’s flight from Fiji’s main island, Nadi. In order to experience the breathtaking magic of Seagrass Bay, you’ll need to stay at the all-inclusive.
