Happy Spring Fam🌻
As you guys know, spring is the season during which the natural world revives and reinvigorates after the older winter month. Dormant plants begin to grow again, new seedlings sprout out of the ground and hibernate animals awake.
People of the Jewish faith celebrate passover, which commemorates when the Jewish people were freed from slavery to Egypt, according history. Spring in many other countries with strong Christian tradition is marked by Easter, which is celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his triumph over physical death, however has roots in older traditions.
In Japan, there’s a national event to celebrate the return of spring: the annual blossoming of cherry trees, “Hanami”. For us here in Haiti we celebrate Easter, it’s a time to take a break from your work, school or any other activities you’re doing. But, we are living a very dangerous situation here that’s why we can’t fully enjoy spring break as it should be. But if you are a frugal person and you don’t really want people to know about your business, I am inviting you to take those short trip in one of those beautiful countryside in Haiti, for a moment of peace and pure joy.

Pestel: Grand’Anse
Pestel is a part of Corail arrondissement, commune located in Grand’Anse department. Founded in 1829,called Pastel after a former French settler. The commune is spread six communal sections including an island section(Bernagousse, Espere, Jean-Bellune, ToZia, Duchity and Les iles Cayemites) . Agriculture and fishing are the main activities of the inhabitants. The most important activity in Pestel is “sea day”.
You can reach Pestel by boat or car, it takes around 3 or 4 hours after a plane took you from Port-au-Prince to Jeremie.
Limonade : Nord
Part of Cap-Haitian’s metropolitan area and one of its immediate eastern suburbs. The city was founded in 1676 and fornely called Puerto Real. Lemonade has 3 communal sections and a district ( Basse Plaine, Bois de Lance, Roucou).
In this commune, you can find the ruins of Fort Nativite, built by Columbus in 1493, the King Henri Christophe university inaugurated on January 12 , 2012 founded by the Dominican Republic.
Port-a-Piment : Sud
Commune of the arrondissement of Coteaux, first known as Prickly, also called Figured, Port-a-Piment was established in 1700. With 2 communal sections ( Paricot and Balais) . The city is home of the largest cave systems in the Caribbean “Grotte Marie-Jeanne” distinguished by it’s internal morphology, configuration and it’s geological, biological and historical characteristics. Manganese is abundant in the city but main activities are lime,tobacco and coffee.
You can reach Port-a-Piment by car from Cayes it’s about 30mns to 1 hour drive.
Mole st-Nicolas : Nord-oeust
On December 6,1492, Christopher Columbus first voyage to the Americas landed at the site of Mole Saint-Nicolas, baptized “Hispaniola”. He planted the cross of Discovery of the new world. It’s has 3 communal sections(Cotes-de-fer, Mare-Rouge, Dame). Iron and copper mines are found in this town, in addition Mercury.
onuments and historical sites are: Battery of Valliere, Fort Saint-Charles, Fort of the rallying, Fort Saint-Georges, Fort Dorlean, Fort Morne a Cabri. We can’t forget Columbus Resort.
You can reach it by plane, boat and car.
Ennery : Artibonite
Commune in the Gonaives arrondissement. It has 3 communal sections( Savage carree, Passe-Reine or Bas Ennery, Chemin neuf,Pilboreau). It is a local for those, who wish to avoid crowds.
Ennery contains copper and Gypsum. You can find Jardin du Village d’Ennery. Access Ennery by car.
Petit-goave : Oeust
Founded in 1625, one of the Populous city of Leogane arrondissement, the Amerindian s named it Goave. Temporary served as the capital of Saint-Domingue. The commune has already produced a president and later be named kind king Faustin 1er. The commune is home of Dany La derriere, it is also home of “Dous Makos” a sweet cullinary specialty. The commune has 12 communal sections.
Access Petit-Goave by car 30mns to 1 hour from Port-au-Prince
Iles Cayemites : Grand-anse

Marigot : Sud-est
Commune in the arrondissement of Jacmel. Marigot has 5 communal sections and a district( Quartier de Seguin, Corail-Coult, Grande Riviere Fesles, Macary,Fond Jean-Noel, Savage du Bois). Access this calm and charming city by car.
